As one of the countries with the richest biodiversity in the world, China's unique natural geographical environment has nurtured diverse resources of wild bird species, making it a veritable "bird paradise".
With the arrival of midsummer, the blue-throated bee-eater, known as the most beautiful bird in China, welcomes its breeding season. Recently, they have appeared sequentially in Huanggang at Hubei Province.
Let's have a look at the posture of these beautiful birds!
The blue-throated bee-eater (藍喉蜂虎) is a medium-sized bird species, belonging to the bee-eater family and genus. Its body length is approximately 26-28 centimetres.
The blue-throated bee-eater is named for its blue throat and its primary diet of bees and other insects.
From its reddish-brown crown to its blue-green wings and light blue tail feathers, the blue-throated bee-eater seems to have put a rainbow on its body.
With their brilliant colours, they are hailed as the most beautiful bird in China.
The Yangshan river beach in Qiliping town, Hongan County, Huanggang City, Hebei Province is one of the most important breeding grounds for blue-throated bee-eaters.
Every summer, they are attracted here to nest and breed.
At this time, on the beautiful Yangshan river beach, you can see groups of blue-throated bee-eaters perched on tree branches in rows, either playing with each other or flying to catch food.
They look like colourful kites flying freely in the sky, enjoying their "summer party".
