Autumn is perfect for cycling!
Besides shopping, Shenzhen is also a city where you can find a lot of parks and greenways for cycling in Autumn. As of August 2025, Shenzhen has built over 200 kilometres of recreational cycling paths.
What are some good bike routes in Shenzhen? How easy can we rent shared bikes? The following are 4 routes that are easy and fun enough for both beginners and families to go.
Cycling along the coast: Shenzhen Bay Park—K11 ECOAST
For those who want to have a bike riding along the coastal areas, Shenzhen Bay Park is definitely the first choice.
The section from Shenzhen Bay Park to K11 ECOAST is 16 kilometres long, and is a flat, scenic route that attracts many citizens to go cycling.
Inside the Shenzhen Bay Park, there are many shared bicycles along the route; you can simply pick one and start a spontaneous cycling trip.
Starting from Shenzhen Bay Park, cycling along the coastal path passing through Talent Park (人才公園), Houhai Centre River Park (後海中心河公園), and Nuwa Coastal Park (女媧濱海公園), you will enjoy sea breeze, seagulls and the wonderful scenery along the way.
When you are passing by the attractions such as Crescent Moon Valley (彎月山谷), Sunrise Amphitheatre (日山劇場), and Lighthouse Memorial Terrace (燈塔紀念台), don't forget to drop off and take some pictures.
There are also rest stops along the way to take a break and have some refreshment before continuing the journey, which are truly friendly to beginner cyclists.
When you arrive at the destination, Shenzhen K11 ECOAST, you will surely be captivated by the splendid views out there. This is Shenzhen's new cultural and commercial landmark, where there are two large shopping malls, a multi-functional cultural space, and the waterfront promenade.
You can either cycle along the waterfront promenade to see the magnificent coastal views, or you can put down your bicycle and take a nice walk there.

Cycling under the bridge: Mountain-Sea vistas Qianhai Bay Section
The Qianhai Bay Section of the Mountain-Sea Vista, approximately 6 kilometres in total length, is a seaside cycling route created by Shenzhen.
It is mostly under the bridge of Guangzhou-Shenzhen Riverside Expressway. Cyclists can travel from OH Bay to the Xiwan Mangrove Park via the Guangshen Riverside Coastal Expressway.
The entire path is flat, making the ride straightforward and suitable for all skill levels.
Most of this route is under the Guangzhou-Shenzhen Riverside Expressway bridge, so it is almost completely cycling under a shelter. With greenery on both sides, cycling here is feeling natural and comfortable.
Follow the cycling pathway, you will see concrete columns marking "1, 2, 3, 4", etc., which measures how many kilometers have you cycling so far.
Don't assume cycling beneath the bridge is dull—on the contrary, its sides are lined with rest areas and playgrounds for children, as well as basketball courts for adults, making it an ideal outing for the whole family.
As you ride, you'll be treated to breathtaking sea views featuring passing boats, seabirds, and the magnificent cross-sea bridge.
And if you reach Xiwan Mangrove Park at dusk, you'll be rewarded with a stunning sunset that provides the perfect ending to your journey.

Cycling through stunning sea of flowers: Shiyan Lake Ring Greenway
Another route that is simple and easy with clear cycling path is the Shiyan Lake Greenway (環石岩湖綠道).
The Shiyan Lake Greenway is located in Shiyan Sub-district, Bao'an District. Starting from Shiyan Lake Wetland Park, it extends and circles along the lakeside, with a total length of 30.8 kilometres, making it the longest greenway in Shenzhen.
The route passes through 4 major theme parks, which are Fuyangzhijian (俯仰之間), Moshanghua Park (陌上花公園), Wumutian (五畝田), and Qingcaopai Park (青草排公園)from east to west. They are connected by roads in between.
A true highlight of the route is Moshanghua Park. As you approach, you cannot miss the vast sea of flowers. A variety of blooms are in full splendor, with the pink muhly grass being the most enchanting.
Others, like red plumed cockscombs and pink foxtail flowers, add to the dreamy atmosphere, creating a uniquely romantic vibe.
The Shiyan Lake Greenway features a permeable soft surface and stretches of ecological wooden boardwalk.
Winding along beneath a lush canopy of trees, it's a joy for cyclists, walkers, and runners alike to immerse themselves in nature.

Cycling along ecological corridor: Dasha River Ecological Corridor
Another recommended beginner's cycle path is the Dasha River Ecological Corridor, known as Shenzhen's "Seine River", which is called as Shenzhen's largest and most beautiful ecological corridor.
This 13.7-kilometer corridor spans from Shenzhen University's Lihu Campus to Shenzhen Bay, running through the heart of Nanshan District. It forges a vital link between University Town, Xili Lake, and the Shenzhen Bay from north to south, seamlessly integrating natural ecology with urban life.
The upstream section of the corridor is University Town, an area renowned for having Shenzhen's most concentrated academic and cultural atmosphere.
It connects several major institutions, including Shenzhen University's Xili Lake Campus (深圳大學西麗湖校區), Southern University of Science and Technology (南方科技大學), Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School (清華大學科研院 (深圳)), and Harbin Institute of Technology, Shenzhen (哈爾濱工業大學 (深圳)). Notable scenic spots here include the Forest Stage(森林舞台)and Jiuxiangling Wetland Park (九祥嶺濕地公園).
These areas feature hydrophilic platforms and viewing boardwalks, making them excellent locations for spotting egrets in the autumn.
The middle section is an urban forest hub, featuring Dasha River Park and Sports Centre. The park offers lawns, a playground, an aerial boardwalk, and a circular treehouse for relaxation.
Against the scenic backdrop of trees and sky, it's a highly picturesque spot for photography. Here is also very good for cycling.
The lower section of the corridor is the Shenzhen Bay section, which seamlessly connects to the bay's waters. Modern seaside promenades and green belts line both shores, providing the most open and expansive views.
A must-visit is the Shenzhen Bay Viewing Platform, which offers a stunning panorama of the coastline, the Spring Bamboo Building, and the scenic landscapes of Hong Kong in the distance.
The Dasha River Corridor concludes at the starting point of the Shenzhen Bay Park Section B cycling path.
If you're still eager for more, you can continue directly onto the route introduced earlier—from Shenzhen Bay Park to K11—to fully enjoy a perfect autumn day of cycling.
