China released first Belt&Road white paper

On March 28, 2015, China released its first government white paper on the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI).

The full name of the white paper is "Vision and Actions on Jointly Building the Silk Road Economic Belt and 21st Century Maritime Silk Road", jointly issued by the National Development and Reform Commission, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Ministry of Commerce.

The white paper points out in the preface that the construction of the Belt and Road is a systematic project, which should be jointly built through consultation to meet the interests of all, and efforts should be made to integrate the development strategies of the countries along the Belt and Road. 

It also states that accelerating the building of the Belt and Road can help promote economic prosperity of the countries along the Belt and Road and regional economic cooperation, strengthen exchanges and mutual learning between different civilizations, and promote world peace and development. It is a great undertaking that will benefit people around the world.

In addition to the preface, the white paper is divided into eight chapters: Background, Principles, Framework, Cooperation Priorities, Cooperation Mechanisms, China's Regions in Pursuing Opening-Up, China in Action, and Embracing a Brighter Future Together.
