China's aircraft carrier Fujian launched

On June 17, 2022, China's second domestically-built aircraft carrier Fujian was launched.

On the morning of that day, the naming and launching ceremony of Fujian was held at Jiangnan Shipyard of China State Shipbuilding Corporation.

After launching, the Fujian carried out berth trials and sea trials as planned, before the subsequent handover and commissioning work was arranged based on the progress of various tasks.

The hull number of the Fujian is 18. It is China's third aircraft carrier and the first one to be independently designed and built entirely as a catapult-type aircraft carrier.

Equipped with electromagnetic catapults and arresting gear, it features a straight long flight deck and has a full displacement of more than 80,000 tonnes.
