If you ask Shenzhen residents where to go for lotus viewing, they will definitely answer: Honghu Park.

Located in the Luohu district of Shenzhen, Honghu Park is the first lake park in Shenzhen themed around lotus flowers and featuring water activities.

The park is extensively planted with lotuses and water lilies, covering an area of more than 100 acres, with over 100 varieties, making it one of the most important lotus landscape planting bases in South China.

Every summer since 1988, Honghu Park has held a large-scale lotus exhibition, which has a history of over 30 years. It is considered the pinnacle of lotus viewing in Shenzhen and a must-see exhibition for lotus enthusiasts.

The 2025 lotus exhibition will be held from June 12 to July 6.

"Double-headed lotus" is a flower not to be missed: two flowers bloom on one stem, only occurring naturally, not controlled artificially, nor possessing hereditary traits, making it especially rare and precious.

In 2025, at least six double-headed lotuses were discovered in Honghu Park so far.

Another must-see spot is Pinghe Garden (品荷園), which covers an area of 12,000 square meters and serves as a small world of lotus flowers where various rare breeds, both double-petal and single-petal, can be seen in abundance.

Additionally, morning pavilion and "Luo Benben" are also worth a visit.

After the exhibition, if time allows, you are suggested to visit Shun'gong Stationery & Toy Wholesale Market, which is one of Shenzhen's major wholesale markets, VCity Shopping Mall, KKTime and Walmart Supermarket, where you can have fun too.
