On June 25, 2017, a naming ceremony was held for the Chinese standard electric multiple unit (EMU), and the Fuxing bullet train (復興號) was officially unveiled.
The Fuxing unveiled on that day included two models: the CR400AF in a red and silver colour combination, and the CR400BF in a yellow and white colour combination, both of which looked quite different from the blue and white colour scheme of the Hexie bullet train (和諧號).
The "CR400AF" and "CR400BF" both have test speeds of 400 km/h and above, and a sustained operating speed of 350 km/h.
Not only in colour, but also in appearance, interior, body, and performance, the Fuxing train surpasses China's other operating electric multiple units (EMUs) that were already operating at that time.
The Fuxing train is a Chinese standard EMU led and developed by the China Railway Corporation, with completely independent intellectual property rights.
On one hand, having completely independent intellectual property rights allows the Fuxing bullet train to avoid intellectual property disputes when China's high-speed railways expand abroad.
On the other hand, China's high-speed railways not only have better performance and lower energy consumption but can also adapt to different geological conditions and operating environments, achieving compatibility in EMU technology. There are the unique core competitive advantages of the Chinese standard EMU in the world.
The Fuxing bullet train has established a comprehensive, well-structured, and advanced technical standard system for high-speed EMUs, marking China's full achievement of independent innovation, standardisation, and serialisation in high-speed EMU technology.
This significantly enhances the international influence and core competitiveness of China's high-speed rail.
